Construction delivers an extensive range of specialist services in the areas of infrastructure, storm water drainage, bridge maintenance, transport network technologies, trades, land remediation, asset intelligence, lighting and facility services.

The Role

Play a pivotal role in delivering Brisbane’s infrastructure program by leading delivery logistics services, including traffic control for all of Council, ensuring we keep projects moving safely, efficiently and effectively. In this senior leadership role, you’ll shape strategy, optimise resources and provide trusted advice to senior leaders on operational performance, risks and future service direction.

Leading a large multidisciplinary workforce and significant operational budgets, you’ll drive innovation, continuous improvement and service excellence across a critical city-shaping function. This is an opportunity to influence how infrastructure is delivered across Brisbane, balancing competing priorities, enhancing capability and ensuring resilient, high-performing services that support the city’s growth.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• lead the delivery, optimisation and strategic direction of Council’s traffic control and logistics services
• manage and prioritise resources across major infrastructure programs to support safe and efficient project delivery
• provide expert advice to senior leaders on operational performance, risks, constraints and improvement opportunities
• lead a large multidisciplinary workforce, building capability and driving a high-performance culture
• drive continuous improvement, compliance and innovation to enhance service delivery and organisational outcomes.

To be successful you will have:

• proven experience leading large, complex operational services and high-performing teams
• strong expertise in traffic control, logistics or infrastructure service delivery environments
• the ability to develop strategic plans and drive service improvement, innovation and operational excellence
• experience managing significant budgets, resources and competing priorities to achieve delivery outcomes
• exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders.
