Offering a range of services with fast transit solutions to its clients and building a reputation to manage all aspects of moving livestock internationally by airfreight whilst prioritizing each animal’s health and welfare throughout the journey.
About the Position
The organization is now seeking a a highly organized and experienced Logistics Manager to oversee the sales, transport logistics and compliance for our company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of logistic operations by air, live animal welfare and compliance requirements, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and present live animal logistics solutions by air to customers
• Provide accurate and timely quotes/invoices.
• Manage and coordinate all logistics activities, including planning, budget, freight forwarding, animal welfare and regulatory compliance.
• Negotiate contracts with carriers and other logistics service providers to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service
• Forward planning on consignments, stock levels and bookings
• Manage compliance with biosecurity, export, animal welfare and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and develop a small team of Export Coordinators, providing guidance, training, and support as needed
• Physically carry out aspects of the loading process, when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Experience
• 5+ years of experience in logistics/ Sales management, with a proven track record of success
• Strong knowledge of logistics and export operations, including air transportation stakeholders, routes, freight processes, and export documentation.
• Understanding of animal welfare requirements
• Ability to analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to consult, negotiate, motivate and manage a team
• Proficiency in Salesforce/ CRM, Excel and Office 365 suite.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Independent & show initiative to problem solve and take decisive action in intense situations
• High level of integrity and discretion, when considering business decisions and actions.
• Forward focused, constantly planning for future needs and efficiencies
• Willingness to travel
• Friendly, professional, ‘can-do’ attitude
Qualifications & Licences
• Current driver’s licence
• Current passport- Able to travel externally from Australia
• ASIC License (can be achieved on the job)
• IATA- LAR qualified (can be achieved on the job)
