Description

At Strait Link, truck drivers play a critical role in keeping Tasmania moving — and we value the skill, responsibility and professionalism that comes with it.

We’re seeking experienced HR Truck Drivers to join our Launceston Depot in a full-time, permanent role. This is a stable opportunity with a well-established logistics operator, offering consistent work and a strong safety culture.

 

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient pick-up and delivery of freight, while representing Strait Link professionally at customer sites. The role suits drivers who take pride in their work, follow process, and value working in a supportive team environment.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Pick up and deliver freight safely and on schedule

  • Load, unload and restrain freight in line with safety requirements

  • Complete scanning, Proof of Delivery and consignment documentation

  • Comply with road rules, OH&S requirements and customer site procedures

  • Maintain professional presentation of yourself, the vehicle and freight



Skills And Experiences

About You

  • Current HR licence (manual preferred but not essential)

  • Minimum 2 years’ truck driving experience

  • Experience with general and/or express freight delivery

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Familiarity with radio communication systems (preferred)

  • Knowledge of load restraint systems and National Load Restraint Guidelines (desirable)
