Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) is a high-grade gold mine in Western Australia. The Bellevue mine has an estimated 10+ year mine life forecast to produce ~150,000 Au ounces in FY26.
Underground mining has occurred since late 2020 to establish multiple mining fronts that de-risks production with exploration potential expected to grow the current high-grade resource.
The Bellevue Gold Mine is located approximately 30km north of Leinster township and sits in a major gold and nickel producing district. The Company has a highly skilled management team with a track record of exploration success and development of major gold mines.
Bellevue Gold has the ambitious goal of net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the Bellevue Gold Project by 2026. This will be underpinned by a sector-leading renewable energy power station, with a forecast 70-80% renewable energy penetration rate.

The Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining and advancing our geotechnical systems and processes and providing key inputs to the planning team to deliver a robust mine plan safely, efficiently and cost effectively.
This role is permanent full time and is based on site on an 8/6 roster.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Ensure compliance of Geotechnical considerations as per the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations.
- Ensure personal compliance with company safety requirements and assist in developing and implementing improved work practices to reduce the risk of injury and improve productivity.
- Monitoring and management of all geotechnical hazards for underground operations.
- Conduct regular underground audits to ensure adherence to ground support standards.
- Liaising with the site contractor to ensure ground support standards are as per the design and arranging modification if required.
- Continuous data collection such as – structural mapping, rock mass quality data, core logging, stress damage mapping, and geotechnical domains definition.
- The validation and interpretation of geotechnical database through ongoing data collection and evaluation to maintain the existing geotechnical models and recommend appropriate design changes if required.
- Complete analysis of designs through empirical and numerical techniques to advise mine planning and production engineers.
- Ability to complete ground support design using current empirical and numerical methods to site specific criteria
- Review open pit monitoring data and report trends monthly.
- Continuously looking for opportunities to help reduce costs across the business.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including trials of new ground support products or monitoring technologies.
- Assist the with the upgrade the site seismic monitoring system.
- Assist with the training and mentoring of vacation students or junior geotechnical engineers to enhance site based geotechnical skills. Will only impact if colleague has direct reports.
Key Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering or Mining Engineering.
- Proven experience in the geotechnical aspects of underground hard rock mines.
- Experience in using software skills such as Map 3D, Rocscience programs, Unwedge, Mine Planning Software (Vulcan/Surpac), Microsoft Office will be highly regarded.
- An understanding of the mine planning process from short term to long term.
- Ability to collect, analyse and interpret geotechnical and monitoring data.
- Commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Current C class WA drivers licence.
