Our Geotechnics & Tunnels team plays a critical role in some of Australia’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure projects, and we’re now looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer with a solid grounding in site investigations and geotechnical analysis who’s ready to take the next step and build depth across tunnelling and major infrastructure work.  If you’re looking to build your geotechnical career with a consultancy that will challenge you, support you and invest in your future, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

  • Planning and delivering geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, fieldwork, sampling, logging and in-situ testing
  • Interpreting geotechnical data and contributing to design recommendations and risk assessments
  • Preparing technical reports and supporting design documentation for small to medium projects
  • Working closely with senior engineers and project managers on investigation scoping, methodologies and project delivery
  • Supporting proposals and tenders, including technical inputs and cost estimates
  • Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and engaging directly with clients on technical queries and project updates
  • Providing guidance to technicians and junior team members in both field and office environments

You’ll balance time between site and office, gaining exposure to a broad range of ground conditions, project types and clients.

Qualifications

About you

You’re a motivated geotechnical engineer who enjoys solving real-world problems and working as part of a collaborative team. You’ll bring:

  • A degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Around 2+ years’ experience in geotechnical engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong field experience, including soil logging, sampling and site investigations
  • Exposure to investigation techniques such as CPTs, boreholes, test pits and in-situ testing
  • Well-developed analytical skills and the ability to interpret geotechnical data
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to technical reports
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
  • Eligibility for (or progress toward) Engineers Australia membership

Most importantly, you’re curious, proactive and keen to keep developing your technical capability.
