As one of the largest packaging companies in Australia and New Zealand, Opal Specialty Packaging provides tailored cardboard-based packaging solutions for small, medium and large businesses. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Opal team as our site in Rocklea, QLD is currently looking for a Forklift Driver to come onboard!  

The key focus of this role will be to:

• Ensure Forklifts and Lifting Equipment are maintained in a safe condition reporting any non-compliance
• Coordinate the safe movement of Finished Good and other materials between the warehouse and delivery vehicles
• Prepare stock for efficient loading onto delivery vehicles
• Ensure Chain of Responsibility obligations are meet
• Reporting hazards, conducting inductions and training employees/casuals on relevant safety hazards
• Use of RFID Scanners to accurately manage stock movements in the warehouse
• Deliver transport efficiency targets
• Meet food safety standards and ensure the work area is clean
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities
• Production tasks within the skills of the role and other various site duties

For this role we would ideally like you to have:

• Experience within a similar industry would be highly regarded (but is not necessarily a requirement for the role)
• A current forklift licence (this is a requirement for the role)
• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Be a reliable & adaptable individual with a desire to learn
• Experience in using RF scanners and/ or SAP would be viewed favourably (but is not required)
• Some mechanical aptitude
