Are you a driven operations leader who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments? We are looking for experienced Food Manufacturing Operations Managers to join our Site Leadership Team and work alongside our existing Operations Manager to help lead the performance, people, and future direction of our Smeaton Grange operation.
This is an exciting opportunity to partner closely with the broader leadership team and play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-performing manufacturing operations within a growing business.
About the Role
As a Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will lead the day-to-day site operations while driving operational excellence, team performance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.
You will be responsible for creating a strong safety and performance culture, delivering production outcomes, and developing high-performing teams that support the future growth of the site.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations to achieve production targets, budgets, and KPIs
- Drive a strong safety-first culture and support our Zero Harm commitment
- Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, quality, and regulatory standards
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs
- Coach, mentor, and develop leaders and frontline teams
- Improve plant efficiency, productivity, and cost performance
- Work collaboratively with Planning, Logistics, Engineering, and Technical teams
- Support change management initiatives and build strong stakeholder relationships, including unions
About You
You are a hands-on, people-focused leader with strong operational knowledge and the ability to lead from the front. You enjoy building engaged teams, improving processes, and delivering results in high-volume manufacturing environments.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in a senior manufacturing or operations leadership role
- Strong FMCG, food manufacturing, or short shelf-life production experience
- Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement and operational change
- Experience leading large teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality, and compliance requirements
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Qualifications in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, CI programs, automation, or logistics systems will be highly regarded
