Job Description

Location: Geraldton Port
Roster: 4 Days, 4 Nights, 4 Off
Rate: $48.31 per hour + Superannuation
Shifts: 12 Hours
Type: Permanent

We are seeking a motivated Fixed Plant Operator to join the Port Logistics team at Geraldton Port on a permanent, full-time basis. In this role, you’ll play a key part in safely and efficiently unloading trucks, while carrying out inspections and maintenance to keep our operations running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Safely and efficiently unload trucks to ensure timely material transfer.
  • Conduct inspections of incoming materials and plant equipment.
  • Carry out cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Perform regular safety and functionality checks to identify and address potential issues.
  • Work collaboratively with management, contractors, operator maintainers, and loader operators.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Operate mobile equipment safely and report hazards promptly.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate records of daily activities, including unloading, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Complete documentation of any incidents and corrective actions.

Qualifications

Required: 

  • Current and valid C Class Driver’s Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • National Police Clearance or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement

Willingness to obtain (if not already held):

  • Relevant VOCs for machinery operation
  • Confined Space Certification
  • Forklift Licence
  • Working at Heights Training
