Our Bajool Operations
in Central Queensland are currently seeking a motivated, committed, and
reliable person who is wanting to gain practical on the job experience, whilst
receiving extensive training and a Certificate III Engineering-Mechanical Trade
– Fitting & Machining. Bajool and Port Alma are about 40km south of Rockhampton and 40km north of Gladstone.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Coordinator you will be trained to perform key responsibilities including:
•Apply principles, systems & processes of OHS & Food Quality Standards
•Operate within a team environment
•Interact with IT systems & technology
•Perform engineering measurements & calculations
•Proactive, preventative, and reactive maintenance to achieve optimal operational requirements whilst maintaining safe work practices.
•Use & interpret detailed drawings or specifications to identify job, material and equipment requirements
•Basic Mechanical Machining & Fitting
•Welding – including TIG for stainless steel
•Opportunities to work on and develop skills for a diverse range of Packaging Equipment, Conveyors, Screws, Screens, Pumps, Fans, Dryers and much more
•Maintain a clean workplace in compliance with quality and safety processes.
•Working through mandatory and elective units to achieve Certificate III Engineering- Mechanical Trade – Fitting & Machining
About You
You will bring the following skills, experience, and attributes to the role:
•Minimum Completion of Year 10, with an aptitude for technical/mechanical work or relevant pre-vocation course.
•Aptitude for technical/mechanical work
•A team player, trustworthy and has good work ethic
•A quick learner, willing to listen and learn from experience of others
•Strong ongoing commitment to workplace health & safety
•Ability to communicate professionally in writing and verbally
•Basic skill in the use and maintenance of hand and power tools
•Basic computer skills including data entry and knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
•Commitment to study and completion of Certificate III qualification
•Ability and willingness to travel to study
•Current Drivers Licences
