We are seeking motivated Farm Hands (all experience levels considered) to join our team at Hill River, a 5,300 ha premium farming property located on WA’s stunning Midwest coast –approximately 2.5 hours north of Perth and 30 minutes from Jurien Bay.

In this role, you will support the Hill River Business Unit Manager and work collaboratively with a close-knit crew. Our operations include feeding and caring for around 5,000 head of cattle, farm maintenance, general livestock handling, and the operation of modern farming equipment — including tractors for hay feeding, seeding and spraying.

Whether you’re early in your agriculture journey or bring years of experience, we’re looking for people who are eager to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a positive team culture.

You will be a self-motivated person who is hands on and passionate about the agriculture industry. You will also have a strong work ethic and be willing to learn and contribute to the team.

Please note:

  • You will need to have a current driver's licence and own transport.
  • Horse riding experience is preferred, or a demonstrated eagerness to learn.

    Key Responsibilities include:

    • Handling and monitoring cattle, and pasture management.
    • Drafting, yard work, and low-stress livestock handling.
    • Regular feeding rounds and paddock checks.
    • Fencing installation, repairs, and general infrastructure maintenance.
    • Weed eradication, including chemical spraying.
    • Operating and maintaining farm machinery and vehicles.
    • Supporting pasture improvement, paddock rotation, and water infrastructure upkeep.
    • Always demonstrate commitment to safe working practices and animal welfare.
    • Mustering with horses

    Our Ideal Candidate will have:

    • Good horse-riding skills along with basic level horsemanship.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and diligent work ethic.
    • Adaptability and the willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
    • Strong focus on safety, animal welfare and bio-security standards.
    • Initiative, enthusiasm, good work ethic and problem-solving skills.
    • Be flexible in working hours, including weekend work when needed.
    • Physically fit to meet the inherent requirements of the role, including manual handling tasks.
    • Hold a current driver’s licence.
