Estimator - Civil Construction

With over 25 years' experience, Rokon Civil is a well‑established and highly respected civil contractor delivering quality land development and infrastructure projects across Victoria. With a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, we are expanding our Tenders team and seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join us.

The Role

As an Estimator with Rokon, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive and timely tender submissions from first principles across a range of civil construction projects. Working closely with construction and engineering teams, you will analyse drawings, assess risks and opportunities, and contribute to winning strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction, subdivision and infrastructure projects from first principles
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Complete quantities, take‑offs and Bills of Quantities
• Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Identify risks, value‑engineering opportunities and scope clarifications
• Support the bid submission process and tender presentations
• Maintain cost histories and internal databases
• Assist with project handovers to delivery teams

About You

• Proven experience as a Civil Estimator (land development/subdivision experience preferred)
• Strong technical understanding of earthworks, drainage, roads and utilities
• Ability and experience estimating from first principles
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Expert Estimation or similar
• Excellent analytical, numerical and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
• A proactive, solutions‑driven mindset
