Summary:

As an Electrician at FTI Group you would be responsible for a wide range of tasks install, repair, and maintain electrical infrastructure, machinery and day to day repairs and upgrades to existing equipment. The use of technical drawings and blueprints to plan and layout electrical systems, troubleshoot problems, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This position provides the opportunity for the applicant to expand their knowledge into other aspects of industrial work

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot electrical problems
  • Install and maintain electrical systems to machinery including upgrades to existing equipment
  • Prevent breakdown of electrical systems by routinely inspecting and maintaining equipment
  • Installation of new equipment, including new sub-boards and general industrial building circuits.
  • Carry out work of a non-electrical nature in order to maintain equipment and machinery and any urgent after-hours breakdowns
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and FTI’s OHSE policies and procedures
  • Review and update all work procedures as directed and report on system failures
  • Travel interstate (Vic) to service and trouble shoot/repair and maintain machinery in our workshop
  • Document and maintain electrical records

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Trade Certification as an electrician – Fully licenced for Australian electrical work
  • Extensive knowledge of Industrial electrical, covering all aspects of machinery, sensors, safety systems, upgrades, repairs and the like.
  • Have extensive knowledge of PLC controllers, HMI’s, detailed machinery circuits, IT systems integrated into machinery.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety codes
  • Experience in Industrial Automation is required
  • Understanding of programming basic PLC systems including modification as necessary
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Experience in electrical installation, repair, and maintenance
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various positions
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team
