Job Description

Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) is seeking a qualified and motivated Electrician to support maintenance and project activities at our Gin site. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety and availability of critical plant and equipment.

You will contribute to both day‑to‑day operations and site improvement initiatives, including business improvement and capital projects. At times, you may also lead small teams undertaking capital works.

To be considered for this position you will:  

  • Conduct Planned Preventative, Condition‑Based and Corrective Maintenance, including minor capital works.
  • Troubleshoot, analyse and repair faults in critical and specialised equipment.
  • Read and interpret complex technical documentation to support detailed fault diagnosis.
  • Complete maintenance tasks in line with LDC standards and safety expectations.
  • Collaborate with other trades and site personnel to support efficient, cost‑effective maintenance practices.
  • Record maintenance activity accurately in CMMS and ensure all work orders have full audit trails.
  • Recommend improvements to SOPs, Work Instructions, and maintenance processes to meet compliance and efficiency standards.
  • Participate in specialised training and support the introduction of new maintenance and condition‑monitoring technologies.
  • Support contractor inductions and clearly communicate safety and performance expectations.
  • Maintain positive working relationships and monitor the quality, safety and cost performance of service providers.

Qualifications

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of PLCs and relay logic systems.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and automation systems.
  • Experience in fault‑finding and root cause analysis.
  • Proven hands‑on electrical repair and maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Strong communication and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Professional presentation and strong customer‑service focus.
  • Computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and development.

Desirable Skills

  • Basic understanding of ginning or agricultural processing machinery (advantageous but not essential)

 Education & Qualification

  • Current QLD Electrical Licence (mandatory)
