ABB Motion Services, based in Eagle Farm, Queensland, is seeking a number of skilled Electrical Fitters to join our team on fixed-term contracts, with the potential for contract extensions or future permanent opportunities.

As Australia's ABB Traction Workshop, we bring over 40 years of expertise in AC/DC traction motor testing, diagnostics, manufacturing, machining, repairs, and full overhauls. Supported by industry-leading onsite testing facilities, we deliver critical services to some of Australia's leading rail and transport customers.

Your role and responsibilities

• Contribute to customer satisfaction by executing workshop orders according to workshop processes and guidelines.

• Perform workshop tasks such as troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing.

• Check bill of materials and other documents to identify required parts needed for service activity and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available.

• Ensure the completion, processing, and maintenance of all required documentation.

• Perform Electrical testing and recording of measurements as per OEM standard and complete motor stator and armature rewind.

Qualifications for the role

• Hold a recognised Australian Electrical Fitter trade qualification and current Electrical Licence (mandatory).

• Recently completed apprenticeship or have up to 2 years of post apprenticeship experience in a relevant electrical trade role.

• Exposure to, or a strong interest in, stator and armature rewinding, with a willingness to develop specialised skills through on the job training.

• Basic understanding of rotating motors and generators, with an interest in working across the Industrial and Rail sectors.

• Demonstrated aptitude for electrical and mechanical repair, maintenance, or refurbishment activities, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

• Able to produce clear and accurate inspection reports, both handwritten and via digital reporting platforms.

• Hold a current Queensland driver’s licence.
