Document Controller
Sydney | Architecture & Design | Global Practice
 
A globally recognised architecture and design practice is seeking an experienced Document Controller to join their Sydney studio and play a key role in supporting the delivery of major projects across Australia.
 
Working closely with project leaders, architects, consultants, and clients, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate management, coordination, and distribution of project documentation throughout all project stages. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected, design-led practice known for delivering complex, award-winning projects worldwide.
 
The Role
 
As the Document Controller, you will be the central point of contact for all project information management and document control activities. You will support multiple project teams, ensuring documentation is issued accurately, tracked effectively, and managed in accordance with project, client, and industry standards.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Maintaining document registers, filing structures, and project records
  • Ensuring version control, revision tracking, and document traceability
  • Coordinating submissions, transmittals, and consultant information
  • Processing RFIs, shop drawings, samples, and construction-related documentation
  • Supporting project teams with client-specific document management requirements
  • Maintaining compliance with quality assurance and information management protocols
  • Assisting with the implementation and administration of document control systems and platforms
About You
 
You will have previous experience in a Document Control, Project Administration, or Information Management role within architecture, engineering, construction, or related industries.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
  • Strong document control and information management experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Knowledge of architectural and construction documentation processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience using document management systems such as Aconex, Newforma, CMap, or similar platforms will be highly regarded
