Commercial Vehicle / Truck Mechanic – Australia

Visa Sponsorship & Relocation Opportunity

Australia is facing a nationwide shortage of qualified heavy vehicle mechanics, particularly those with experience on premium European truck brands.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience on:

  • Volvo Trucks (highly regarded)
  • Daimler / Mercedes-Benz Trucks
  • MAN
  • Scania
  • Other European or premium heavy vehicle manufacturers

Roles are available Australia-wide, including major metropolitan areas and regional centres. We are flexible and will work with candidates to place them in locations that best suit their lifestyle and career goals.

Age guide: Ideally under 42 years of age to support future eligibility for Australian Permanent Residency pathways (not a strict requirement, but strongly preferred).

Role Requirements

  • Qualified Heavy Commercial / Diesel Truck Mechanic
  • 3–5+ years post-trade experience (senior technicians strongly encouraged)
  • Proven experience working on heavy commercial trucks or prime movers
  • Main dealer / OEM workshop background preferred
  • Volvo Trucks experience highly desirable
  • (Other European truck brands will absolutely be considered)
  • Diagnostic and fault-finding capability preferred
  • Exposure to heavy mechanical repairs (engines, driveline, brakes)
  • Good spoken and written English

Role Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis, servicing, and repair of heavy commercial vehicles
  • Preventative maintenance and safety inspections
  • Advanced fault finding using OEM diagnostic systems
  • Mechanical repairs across engine, drivetrain, suspension, and braking systems
  • Ensuring all work meets Australian safety and compliance standards
  • Accurate job card and service documentation completion
  • Working collaboratively within professional workshop environments

 

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: AUD $79,000 per year
  • (Approximately ZAR 940,000 – 970,000 per year, exchange rate dependent)
