What's on offer?
The Fulton Hogan National Airports team is seeking expressions of interest from Senior Estimators who are open to relocating to Adelaide, South Australia as we continue to grow and expand our service offering across airports and Defence infrastructure projects.

Why Adelaide?

  • South Australia has a strong and growing pipeline of transport, civil and airport‑style infrastructure, allowing you to work on complex and high‑value work that support communities, while benefiting from Adelaide’s more accessible commute and lifestyle.
  • Adelaide offers excellent schools, beaches, parks and community sport, plus cafés and events – a relaxed lifestyle where families can thrive and careers can flourish.
  • More affordable housing and a lower overall cost of living compared to some other major capitals, making relocation to Adelaide a practical and attractive option.

This is a fantastic career opportunity for you to drive your career further, broaden your industry exposure, and take your estimating career to the next level, with on-the-job development, coaching and support provided throughout. Full relocation assistance is available, along with an attractive salary package.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the preparation of accurate and timely cost estimates for airports and Defence infrastructure projects, including both tender submissions and feasibility studies.
  • Analysing documentation (drawings, specifications, scope statements) and identifying risks, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders – engineers, planners, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients – to obtain required information and validate estimates.
  • Preparing quantity take-offs, rate build-ups, and Bills of Quantities using industry-standard estimating software.
  • Evaluating and adjudicating subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with project scope and company standards.
  • Providing clear, professional reporting on estimate breakdowns and price rationales to senior management.
  • Assisting with post-tender negotiations and cost review meetings.

How you’ll connect to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Significant estimating experience, with a strong background in either airport or Defence projects.
  • Proficiency in Expert Genesis estimation software or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand construction standards, codes, and procurement processes.
  • Highly developed analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator with proven stakeholder management and negotiation capability.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

If you’re looking for meaningful, technically challenging work, the chance to step onto nationally significant airport and Defence projects, and a lifestyle change without compromising your career, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
