Warakirri Cropping owns and operates approximately 155,000 hectares of broadacre cropping farms on behalf of an Australian superannuation fund throughout Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.

About the role

• Preparing machinery for operations.
• Operating farm machinery, including spraying (self-propelled and camera spraying), spreading and paddock preparation activities.
• Observing and monitoring crop health and progress; communicating this to the Farm Manager and agronomic advisor.
• Maintenance of farm machinery and vehicles.
• Taking reasonable care for your own health and safety and for the health and safety of others.
• Identifying and reporting any health and safety hazards, incidents or near misses.
• Contributing to a positive team culture in line with the company's values.
• Other general farm duties as required.

Qualifications

Ideally, we are looking for operators with experience in:

• Large-scale cropping plant and equipment, at least 1 year.
• A willingness to learn, adopt new practices and further develop personal skills, whilst working in a team environment.
• The ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
• Good communication skills.
• Relevant certificates in farming operations and/or necessary experience.
• Current chemical users’ certificate, driver and truck licences preferred but not necessary.
