Your next career opportunity: 
In this role, you will lead transparency and disclosure compliance programs that safeguard research security and national interests. You will partner with researchers and leaders to address complex governance challenges and strengthen responsible research culture. 

What you will deliver: 

  • Lead transparency and disclosure programs that prevent and detect non-compliance across research security and national security regulations. 

  • Provide expert advice on conflicts of interest, foreign interests and relevant legislation to researchers and professional staff. 

  • Administer central registers and disclosure processes, including conflicts of interest, foreign interests and assurance reporting to executives. 

  • Design and deliver training, communications and workshops that build awareness of research security, transparency and disclosure obligations. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve business processes, monitor risks and support governance, assurance and external engagement activities. 
     

You may be a great fit if you: 

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, with substantial experience in compliance, governance or regulatory affairs. 

  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of research security regulations and foreign interference guidelines relevant to the Australian university sector. 

  • Apply compliance and governance frameworks, including obligations management, controls and assurance processes, in complex organisational environments. 

  • Analyse complex, sensitive issues with sound judgement, providing pragmatic solutions that balance risk, ethics and operational needs. 

  • Communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, preparing high-quality reports, guidance materials, and engaging training or information sessions. 

  • Manage systems, registers and workflows with strong organisation and attention to detail, meeting deadlines in dynamic settings.

Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) drives research excellence, impact and partnerships across all ten Academic Divisions. Within RIC, the Office of Research Ethics and Integrity support responsible, high-quality research through governance, training and assurance. You will join a small, specialist team passionate about research security, transparency and service excellence. The team values collaboration, feedback and continuous improvement, and invests in your development and influence.
