Job Purpose
DP World is one of the world’s leading supply chain solutions providers, operating over 60 ports globally. At our Port Botany Terminal, we play a critical role in supporting Australia’s trade and logistics network.
We are seeking a motivated Industrial Electrician with electrical instrumentation and process control experience to join our Engineering team at Port Botany. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing terminal equipment to original manufacturer specifications and local engineering standards, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations across the terminal. This role is under the General Maintenance Roster (DP World Sydney Enterprise Agreement 2024).
Key Accountabilities
Perform planned and unplanned industrial electrical maintenance, including fault diagnosis and breakdown response
Provide guidance to operational staff during basic fault-finding activities
Work safely on or near low-voltage electrical installations, in compliance with AS/NZS 4836:2011 and AS 3000
Ensure all isolations are conducted in accordance with LOTO procedures
Collaborate closely with maintenance fitters during servicing and repairs
Ensure equipment design or functionality is not modified without appropriate authorisation and Management of Change (MOC) approval
Undertake electrical repairs and refurbishment to required standards
Accurately record maintenance activity in the Work Order Management System (CMMS), including fault details, root cause (where known), repairs undertaken, and follow-up actions
Support continuous improvement by reducing repeat failures and improving equipment reliability
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Certificate IV in Electrotechnology (or higher)
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a licensed Industrial Electrician / Technician
Experience with electrical instrumentation and process control (desired)
Strong working knowledge of Siemens PLCs and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
Ability to interpret electrical drawings and ladder logic
Current CPR and Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) certification
Sound knowledge of OHS&E requirements
Willingness and ability to work a rotating roster, at heights, and outdoors
