What you’ll contribute to

An exciting opportunity for a Technical Operations Manager to join our Quality & Service division in a full-time permanent position.

The Quality and Service Division is responsible for planning, coordination, and execution of customer first activities including customer support, service operation foundations and training, in-field product performance and support, warranty, quality planning and engineering in order to retain customers for life through optimised experiences, services and products to grow the market, contribute to profitability objectives and strengthen the Toyota brand.

The Technical Operations Manager is primarily responsible for assisting in the planning, facilitating and implementation of technical support provided to Dealers ensuring fix it right and customer satisfaction and business targets for Toyota over the short, medium and long term.

This role is based in Altona North and requires frequent Victorian metro and rural travel with occasional interstate travel.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Provides Toyota and Lexus dealers direct technical support activities across the region that are effective, flexible and in response to need, in order to drive customer satisfaction, ensure Fix It Right and encourage Toyota for Life standards.   

  • Implements processes and procedures to monitor, report and resolve field issues to achieve Early Detection Early Resolution (EDER) and ensure TMCA meet all CDEA targets.

  • Support all pre vehicle delivery rework activities including co-ordination of dealers, vehicle logistics and repair teams.

  • Support development and delivery of Dealer Technical meetings and conferences.

  • Prepare and deliver training to dealer staff ensuring Technical Advisor skill improvement.

  • Analyse and report on dealer DPR and TSS case quality then implement projects to improve quality.

  • Monitors own tasks with respect to compliance with all relevant regulations, statutory requirements and TMCA operational requirements, including OH&S compliance in order to minimise Toyota’s risk exposure and liabilities. 

  • Monitor performance against targets and maintain accurate reporting systems, recommending improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent automotive qualification) – required. (degree qualification in engineering desirable)

  • Background in Toyota or Lexus dealership service or technical operations – desirable.

  • Toyota or Lexus Technical Advisor experience highly regarded.

  • 5+ years’ accumulative experience in the automotive industry (2+ years’ experience if degree qualified).Strong experience in a similar role in the automotive industry.

  • Proven Project management experience.

  • Strong understanding of the business and its commercial drivers.

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in utilising the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Vehicle driver’s license
