Technical Director - Civil Engineer (Dams)

GHD is proud to have one of Australia's largest Dams design practices, with a healthy pipeline of work delivering projects in the water, mining, power, industrial and agricultural sectors. Our Perth business has an opportunity for a Technical Director - Civil Engineer (Dams).

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Assisting the Business Group Leader by contributing to business planning

  • Collaborating with local and national colleagues to drive a strong safety culture

  • Winning, managing and delivering projects, whilst building trusted relationships with our clients

  • Leading key proposals and assisting with resource allocation

  • Delivering dams and tailings engineering projects for mining companies, industrial clients and power companies

  • Mentoring, training and investing in the development of team members

What you will bring to the team:

• A relevant bachelor’s engineering degree, Project Management and/or MBA highly regarded

  • Minimum 10 years industry experience, proven experience in an engineering consultancy and/or utility with well-established local industry contacts

  • Engaging communication skills & strategic problem-solving capability, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients

  • Sound knowledge of dams engineering over the full project lifecycle encompassing planning, design, construction and operation 

  • An enthusiastic, supportive, and motivating leader, who can get the best out of our team

  • Experience in winning work and managing multi-disciplinary medium to large scale dams engineering projects

  • Engineer of Record experience advantageous

  • A natural communicator and strategic thinker who is proactive, professional and collaborative
