We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer – Industrial (Mining & Resources) to join our Perth, WA office.
In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of industrial structures across the resources sector—supporting projects from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. You’ll work closely with civil, mechanical, process, piping, electrical and project delivery teams, producing practical, safe and buildable structural solutions for challenging operational environments (including brownfield sites where applicable).
Deliver structural analysis and design for industrial steel and concrete structures (e.g., platforms, pipe racks, equipment support frames, transfer stations, gantries, buildings and ancillary structures).
Design foundations and support arrangements, coordinating with geotechnical inputs and construction constraints.
Produce high-quality engineering deliverables: calculations, design reports, specifications and design sketches, supporting drafting/modelling teams.
Use structural software such as SpaceGass and Strand7 (or equivalent) to develop and check models and outputs.
Coordinate interfaces with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, piping, electrical) to ensure coordinated, buildable outcomes.
Support constructability and Safety in Design, participating in reviews, risk workshops and value engineering where .
Provide construction support including RFIs, technical clarifications, site input and as-built/close-out requirements as needed.
Demonstrated experience in structural design for industrial facilities, ideally within mining and resources (materials handling, process plants, conveyors/transfer stations, pipe racks, platforms, tanks, equipment support structures, foundations and brownfield upgrades).
Working knowledge and application of relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 1170, AS 4100, AS 3600 and related industry guidelines.
Proficiency with structural analysis/design tools such as SpaceGass and Strand7 (or equivalent); familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and/or Tekla is advantageous.
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and delivery.
Degree qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering (working toward Chartership is highly regarded).
