Role Description

The State Operations Manager is a full-time position based in Port Melbourne, VIC. The role is responsible for leading and overseeing day-to-day state operations, including managing security contracts, liaising with clients, developing and leading operational teams, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations, and maintaining high service delivery standards. The State Operations Manager will drive operational excellence by the business management team, identify and implement process improvements, and manage resource planning to meet client needs effectively. Additionally, the role involves ensuring state financial performance targets are achieved while fostering a culture of safety, accountability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and guide teams effectively.

• Operational planning and resource management experience, including the ability to drive profit improvement.

• Client relationship and stakeholder management skills to effectively address client requirements and build long-term partnerships.

• Detailed knowledge of security industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements, as well as experience in contract management.

• Problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills to handle challenges, improve processes, and achieve goals.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

• Proficiency in report writing and utilization of relevant technologies and software applications in an operational environment.

• Relevant qualifications in business management, security, or a related field are advantageous.

• Current valid driver’s license and the ability to travel regionally as required.
