About the Role:

Due to rescheduling recently undertaken, Kent Projects requires additional Blue-Collar resources from February to undertake discrete work scopes/packages on the Ampol Future Fuels Project in Lytton. 

As a Mechanical Trade Assistant at Kent, you will play a crucial role in assisting our Tradespeople with various tasks, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our projects. Your responsibilities will include supporting Tradespeople, maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring a safe working environment

 

This is an amazing opportunity to join a critical Australian infrastructure project which will be instrumental in reducing emissions and improving the environment. 

 

Your Day to Day will Include:

  • Work closely with skilled tradespeople of various disciplines providing assistance with their duties as directed.
  • Duties can include; set up of equipment and tooling for tradespersons, housekeeping of work fronts, spotting duties, forklift duties, firewatch and sentry duties.
  • Keep tools and equipment clean and well-maintained, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of materials and supplies, ensuring they are properly organized and stored.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, disposing of waste and debris properly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working with potentially hazardous materials and equipment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and construction management team, to achieve project goals and timelines.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to workplace safety and the safety of your co-workers;
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Be a self-starter and able to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

 

 

About You: 

Our ideal candidate will have experience working on construction projects and hold current certifications, including RIIWHS204 Work at Heights and RIIWHS202 Enter and Work in Confined Spaces (both obtained within the past three years), a valid Construction White Card, and a current Australian Driver’s License.
