Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking Senior Water Engineers – Civil and Mechanical disciplines to join GHD’s multidisciplinary Water team in Adelaide. You will support the delivery of resilient, innovative water and wastewater solutions across South Australia and beyond.
With a strong pipeline of work and projected growth, these roles offer the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater treatment, networks, and broader water infrastructure projects, ranging from small to large scale, for major public and private clients. You’ll work alongside genuine technical leaders in a collaborative and high‑performing team, contributing to solutions that are practical, sustainable, and community focused.
Your role will include:
Delivering technical and project leadership across feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction support.
Leading the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and storage systems.
Supporting integrated water management, climate resilience, and circular economy initiatives.
Building strong client relationships and contributing to proposals, reports, and technical assessments.
Providing leadership and mentoring within the team, aligned to GHD’s values.
Supporting and coordinating with related disciplines, including geotechnical and construction services.
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil or Mechanical) or higher qualifications with 5+ years’ relevant experience in water infrastructure design, construction, or management.
Eligibility for Engineers Australia membership (Chartership desirable).
Knowledge of design and operation of water and wastewater treatment systems, water distribution and sewerage networks.
Proven experience in design or project management roles, within an engineering consulting environment and/or directly with state government clients.
Experience with investigation and construction phase services, as well as an understanding of water quality, regulatory compliance, and asset management practices.
Proven consulting or client‑facing experience, ideally including work with government clients.
Well‑developed commercial, risk management and communication skills.
A collaborative, client‑focused mindset.
