About the project
ACCIONA delivers complex civil infrastructure, rail, water and geotechnical projects across Victoria. From major tunnels and stations to transport and water upgrades, our teams help reshape how communities move, live and work. Based in our South Melbourne corporate office, this role supports key bids and live projects across the state. You will work closely with project, commercial and engineering leaders to shape competitive, high quality tenders.
About the opportunity
As Senior Estimator, you lead the development of robust first principles estimates for major Victorian infrastructure projects. You partner with bids, project managers and engineers to define scope, build pricing strategies and test options. Working from the South Melbourne office, you guide estimating inputs across civil, rail, tunnelling and water packages. You report into a senior precontracts or estimating manager and present recommendations to senior leadership, helping ACCIONA secure and deliver complex work.
What are the key accountabilities for the position?
- Lead first principles estimates for complex civil packages
- Develop bid pricing and methodology with bid leaders
- Review scope, identify risk and quantify opportunities
- Build benchmark rates and maintain cost databases
- Present estimate outcomes to senior leaders and clients
- Mentor estimators and support capability growth
- Work with planners and engineers to optimise solutions
Required Skills and Competencies
- Degree in engineering, construction or related field
- Strong civil or rail infrastructure estimating experience
- Proven background with tier 1 or tier 2 contractors
- Advanced Excel and estimating software capability
- Current right to work in Australia
