ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator to lead cost estimation for wind, solar, high-voltage transmission line and substation projects across Australia. This role is critical in developing accurate, competitive, and compliant estimates for EPC and utility-side projects. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure cost optimization and successful tender submissions.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Prepare detailed cost estimates for renewable energy projects, including civil, structural, and electrical components.
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and technical documents to determine scope and pricing.
Develop and maintain cost databases, unit rates, and benchmarking tools.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate quantities and methodologies.
Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options during the estimation process.
Support tender preparation, bid strategy, and client presentations.
Ensure compliance with Australian standards, utility requirements, and contractual obligations.
Provide input on project scheduling and resource planning for accurate cost forecasting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Minimum 4 years of experience in estimating.
Strong understanding of EPC project delivery and Australian market conditions.
Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Candy, Expert Estimation, or similar).
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
Experience with major Australian utilities.
Knowledge of procurement strategies and supplier engagement.
Familiarity with environmental and planning approval processes.
