The Role

BGIS is seeking a skilled Plumber (Hydraulic Services Technician) to join our Self Perform team servicing Newcastle, delivering high-quality plumbing maintenance, repairs, and minor works across commercial client facilities.

 

In this role, you’ll provide end-to-end hydraulic and plumbing maintenance support as part of a collaborative building services team. You’ll be responsible for planned and reactive plumbing maintenance across systems including domestic water services, fixtures, valves, hot water systems, drainage, and associated hydraulic infrastructure, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to BGIS quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver planned and reactive plumbing and hydraulic maintenance across client facilities
  • Conduct fault finding, repairs, and replacement of plumbing systems and components
  • Service and maintain domestic water systems, valves, fixtures, hot water systems, and drainage
  • Respond to emergency plumbing issues including leaks, blockages, and system failures
  • Install and replace plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, urinals, faucets, and water heaters
  • Complete work orders within required timeframes using BGIS systems
  • Assist with estimating labour and materials for small plumbing works
  • Oversee and coordinate subcontractors when required
  • Ensure all works comply with WHS, compliance, environmental, and quality standards
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and safe work practices across service delivery 

 

Your Education, Experience & Skills

  • Trade qualification in Plumbing / Hydraulic Services
  • Relevant plumbing licence
  • White Card (Construction Induction)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in commercial or facilities maintenance plumbing
  • Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and maintenance skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to respond to emergency and reactive maintenance requirements
  • Full working rights in Australia (essential)
