We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic leader with a "can-do" attitude and the integrity to drive people toward success. This role balances the ongoing servicing of our residential portfolio with the successful end-to-end delivery of complex industrial bird-control projects.

Key Responsibilities

As the Operations Manager, you will drive team engagement, consistent service delivery, and strong profit results. Your focus will be divided across these core areas:

Project Initiation, Planning & Execution

  • Collaborative Scoping: Partner closely with Sales teams during the tender phase to help scope projects, estimate costs, and define clear objectives.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, including robust risk management strategies.
  • Delivery Excellence: Lead the execution of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring all aspects adhere to timelines, budget, and quality standards.

Operational Leadership & Resource Management

  • Team Management: Lead and manage Technicians, Local Service Managers (Supervisors), and internal stakeholders to ensure peak productivity.
  • Resource Allocation: Define tasks and allocate resources effectively, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Fleet & Stock: Maintain oversight of a vehicle fleet and inventory to support operational efficiency.

Stakeholder & Risk Management

  • Primary Point of Contact: Act as the main link between clients, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams (including SHE and Sales), providing regular status updates.
  • Mitigation: Proactively identify and assess project risks, implementing change management practices to keep deliverables on track.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure the safety of our people and adherence to SHE standards remains a top priority.

Commercial Performance & Project Closure

  • Financial Oversight: Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) account, monitoring commercial performance to ensure maximum value realization.
  • Formal Close-out: Efficiently close projects by obtaining formal sign-offs, documenting lessons learned, and ensuring smooth transitions to operational teams.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a track record of strong leadership and proven business acumen.

Essential Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience as a Local Service Manager or a similar leadership role within construction or industrial services.
  • Project Expertise: Demonstrated experience in managing the full project lifecycle, from tender to completion.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to coach, motivate, and manage relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial Literacy: Ability to manage P&L, deliver on KPIs, and contribute to annual operational plans.
  • Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
