What does the job look like?

Linfox’s Intermodal business unit is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join the team in Regency Park SA. As part of the operations team, you will report directly to the Branch Manager and play a key role in overseeing and managing critical aspects of our operations, including safety, compliance, financial performance, incident investigations, and fleet utilisation. You will also be responsible for leading and supporting your team and ensure the efficient and seamless delivery of cross-dock, pick-up and delivery (PUD), and long-distance logistics services across both road and rail networks for our retail customers. We currently have a permanent full-time opportunity available working Monday to Friday, starting from 8 am. Key areas:

• Promoting a safety-first culture ensuring commitment to safety, chain of responsibility and quality requirements.
• Provide operational leadership with responsibility for ensuring service delivery is in line with contractual requirements.
• Effective management and development of a direct reports, operational teams and subcontractor partners to provide efficiency and drive improvement across the network.
• Proactive management of customer relationships facilitating growth through new customer integration and organic growth of existing accounts.
• Effectively analyse equipment and operational tasks to deliver productive outcomes through resource utilisation, route optimisation and subcontractor management.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote continuous improvement and safety compliance.

Are you the one?

This is an operational leadership role requiring a manager with experience within the transport industry. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience providing leadership and effective operational decision making within a complex supply chain environment. You can demonstrate: 

• Strong knowledge and experience within a rail operations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement with an ability to build strong relationships across all levels and effectively implement and manage supply contracts.
• Ability to confidently lead, drive outcomes and develop diverse high-performance teams.
• Understanding of operational drivers, cost control and operational budgeting.
• Process driven, analytical and methodical with a passion to drive continuous improvement.
