As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be Trade Qualified. You'll play a critical role in maintaining, overhauling and repairing heavy equipment while ensuring our workshop operates efficiently and effectively.
You’ll be involved in an interesting array of work, across a diverse range of customers and work types, including:
Mobile heavy earthmoving equipment, including truck components and wheel motors
Fixed plant, including Washplant and conveyor motors and components
Field equipment, including Draglines
Rail equipment, including bogies overhauls, traction motors and diverse rail componentry overhauls
Key responsibilities:
· Proven experience in fault diagnosis and repair within heavy machinery
· Competent in usage of measuring equipment (e.g Inside and outside micrometers)
· Skills in organizing and planning work to ensure smooth operations.
· Practical abilities in basic welding and the use of gas cutting torches and burners
· Ability to mechanically inspect motors and machinery
· Strong focus on maintaining a well-equipped workshop, including managing and updating critical spares lists.
· Keenness to work in a self-led environment, where you have a say and input to the work you do, supported by a depth of technical support from our Project Leads and Engineering Teams
