DescriptionDowner is seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanical Tradesperson to support the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program. This hands‑on role is critical to maintaining the safety, reliability and performance of mechanical, pneumatic and automated production equipment within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, reactive and statutory maintenance
- Fault find and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automated systems
- Respond to equipment and facility breakdowns in a timely manner
- Complete inspections and maintenance records within the CMMS
- Promote and comply with Downer’s Zero Harm safety culture
- Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
- Work collaboratively with production and project teams
About You
- Trade qualified: Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (Fitter & Turner)
- Post‑trade experience in facility maintenance of manufacturing or industrial environments
- Experience with automated/robotic and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
- Strong safety focus and ability to follow SOPs and work instructions
- Ability to read technical drawings and complete digital documentation
- High‑risk licenses (Forklift, EWP, Crane) highly desirable
- Further education in a related advanced mechanical discipline is highly desirable.
