We’re currently looking for a Trade qualified Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter at Huhtamaki in Preston, Victoria with experience working in fast paced manufacturing environment. You should be able to cover some after-hour shifts as and when required.

Ideal candidate

  • Holds a current Mechanical trade certification – Fitter and Turner/Machinist.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repairing skills.
  • Experience maintaining production line and processing equipment like pumps, conveyors, etc.
  • Comfortable working in fast paced environment
  • Basic TIG/MIG welding and machining experience required.
  • Reliable, hands-on and team oriented.
     

Indicative tasks include

  • Preventive maintenance and checks as per the work orders  
  • Overhauls of various site equipment like pumps, agitators, conveyors, mechanical filters, printers and label applicators
  • Breakdown maintenance – identify issues and repair as necessary. 
  • Assist with machine setup, adjustments and changeover.
  • Preparation work in workshop for the next PM, overhaul and changeover.
