Leading Hand - Formwork Carpenter Screen Crew

The Role:

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Formwork Screen Crew Leading Hand to join our Structures team at Ironside. Based across Melbourne’s southeastern suburbs, this role involves supervising and leading the installation and operation of structural formwork screen systems (such as Accrow and similar) on multi-storey residential and commercial projects valued between $60–90 million.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a crew installing and operating structural formwork screen systems
• Coordinate lifts, tie-ins, and climbing operations in line with site sequencing and safety procedures
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all SWMS and site standards
• Manage productivity, labour, and materials to achieve daily and project targets
• Liaise with the Site and Structures Managers to plan and execute screen movements
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality, alignment, and system compliance
• Train and mentor crew members to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety

Successful Candidate Requirements:

• Valid Construction Industry (White) Card
• 4-5 years’ experience in formwork, including 2-4 years in a leading hand or supervisory role
• Proven experience with structural formwork screen systems (Accrow, Peri, Omniform, or similar)
• Ability to read and interpret screen layout drawings and lift plans
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented
