What will you do?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Civil Engineer (Energy) to join our Brisbane team.

In this role, you will provide civil engineering leadership across a portfolio of Wind, Solar and BESS projects in Queensland, overseeing delivery from a civil engineering lens. You’ll guide the planning, design and coordination of civil infrastructure including access tracks, roads, pavements, hardstands, foundations interfaces, drainage and associated infrastructure that underpins renewable generation assets.

You will play a key role in:

• Leading civil design packages across renewable energy projects from concept through to detailed design
• Coordinating closely with offshore delivery teams, ensuring alignment, quality and technical excellence
• Integrating multidisciplinary teams across the business (structural, electrical, geotechnical, transmission, environmental and advisory) to achieve seamless project outcomes
• Managing interfaces between civil works and key energy infrastructure, including wind turbine generators, solar arrays, BESS facilities and substations
• Supporting constructability, staging, and contractor engagement through practical, buildable solutions

This is a leadership role where you will influence design direction, mentor engineers, contribute to proposals and work-winning, and build strong relationships with clients and project partners across the energy sector.

Here are the key things you will need to ‘bring ideas to life’:

• Demonstrated experience delivering civil design for renewable energy projects, particularly Wind, Solar and/or BESS developments.
• Strong technical capability in tracks, access roads, pavements, hardstands and site civil infrastructure, including earthworks and drainage design.
• Experience coordinating civil interfaces with transmission lines, substations and wind farm infrastructure (highly regarded).
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate with offshoring or distributed design teams, maintaining quality and programme alignment.
• Experience integrating multidisciplinary inputs to achieve holistic project outcomes across large-scale infrastructure programs.
• Sound understanding of relevant Australian standards, design guidelines and client requirements in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
• Ability to engage confidently with developers, contractors, OEMs, transmission providers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness, including scope management, programme coordination and contribution to bids and proposals.
• Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering (Chartered status or working toward is highly regarded).
