What does the job look like?

Are you an inventory specialist with a passion for logistics and a track record of driving operational excellence? Join our dynamic team in supporting a long-term industrial customer, where your expertise will directly impact supply chain performance and customer satisfaction.

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to join our busy Afternoon shift team in Marsden Park. This is initially available as a 12 month max term contract, with permanency likely, and would see supporting three major customers within a high‑volume, fast‑paced distribution centre. You’ll oversee stock control processes, conduct detailed reconciliations, and provide meaningful insights that help optimise operational planning. Key areas: 

Inventory & Reporting:

• Lead daily and weekly stock integrity activities including cycle counts, stocktakes and reconciliations.
  
• Investigate variances using SAP/WMS data and drive root-cause resolution.
  
• Produce accurate reporting for customers and internal operations, ensuring data integrity and timely communication.

Inbound Coordination & Capacity Planning:

• Oversee inbound freight visibility, ensuring smooth receipt, accurate documentation and efficient slot utilisation.
  
• Align labour/resource requirements with volume forecasts and priority workstreams.
  
• Customer Engagement & Systems Support
  
• Build strong relationships with three major industrial customers, providing technical insights and timely updates.
  
• Support capability development within the team by upskilling others in SAP/WMS functions and stock control processes.

Continuous Improvement & Safety:

• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, reduce waste and optimise flow.
  
• Promote a safety-first mindset aligned with Linfox values of Loyalty, Integrity, Fairness & Trust.

Are you the one?

You love accuracy, thrive under pressure, and know that great logistics depends on great data. You will bring: 

• Experience managing large, SKU-heavy inventories in warehousing or supply chain environments.
  
• Strong competence in SAP or similar ERP/WMS platforms.
  
• Excellent analytical skills, with a methodical approach to problem solving.
  
• Confidence working across customers, operations and leadership stakeholders.
  
• A proactive attitude with strong prioritisation skills during busy PM shift operations.
