This allows our professionals to challenge themselves while gaining valuable engineering and project management experience on fascinating projects.   KCB has opportunities for Geotechnical Engineers to join our integrated and multi-disciplinary team, based in Brisbane. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on large-scale, world-class mining projects including the design and construction of tailings residue and waste storage facilities, water management structures (for example spillways, diversion channels, pipelines, etc.) and other associated infrastructure for the Mining and Energy Resources Sector.   This role will provide you with interesting technical challenges and the opportunity to work closely with other talented professionals committed to delivering high quality engineering and geoscience services.    This role will give you the opportunity to:  Plan, coordinate, supervise, interpret and report on field investigation programs including desktop reviews, field mapping, test pitting, drilling, sampling and testing; Perform analysis and design of mine waste management facilities including modelling using software packages such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, MUK3D, AutoCAD, etc. and in-house analytical tools; Prepare engineering reports, drawings, specifications, presentations and bills of quantities using MS Office software and AutoCAD; Conduct monitoring and supervision of bulk earthworks construction for quality assurance and providing on-the-ground design advice to clients and contractors; and Support project management and client management duties for projects as required.   Attributes & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field; CPEng / RPEQ certification or eligibility to apply within 12 months of joining; Demonstrated experience in planning, investigation, assessment, design and construction of tailings and water dams and waste storage; Familiarity with ANCOLD/ICOLD/GISTM/CDA guidelines and standards; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.   We value your: Strong initiative, innovation, and commitment to technical excellence as well as your enthusiasm and drive toward long-term success.
