About the role:

Rabobank’s COO Domain’s First-Line Risk & Compliance team has an opening in Sydney for a First-Line Risk Manager for a 6-month fixed term contract based in Sydney.  Reporting to the Senior Manager, COO Risk & Compliance, you will play a key role in transforming the way we report & understand risk to insight-driven risk reporting across the COO Domain, elevating how we tell the story of risk & strengthening organisational decision-making.

This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with First-Line Risk partners across COO Domain, providing analysis, advice & risk insight to strengthen data quality, reporting accuracy, & the overall risk narrative across the COO division.


You will join a highly engaged team based in Sydney, contributing to the uplift of risk culture, transparency & governance standards across the organisation.

Top Role Accountabilities:

  • Support the redesign & uplift of Line 1 risk reporting, ensuring reports move from data‑heavy to insight‑driven & decision‑ready. 
  • Partner with COO domain Line 1 risk teams to improve reporting inputs, uplift commentary quality & drive consistent messaging
  • Assist with governance preparation, including papers for leadership meetings, risk committees and global reporting obligations
  • Support risk culture uplift activities, embedding strong Line 1 ownership & improving overall risk awareness across the COO division
  • Ensure policy compliance for all Line 1 reporting obligations

To be successful in the role, you will have: 

  • Proven experience in financial services industry, with a focus on risk reporting, operational risk & data & analytics
  • Strong understanding of operational risk data concepts, including the drivers of incidents, issues, KRIs & control effectiveness, & how these inform risk insights & reporting
  • Experience in uplifting or redesigning risk reporting, ideally within a Line 1 or Line 2 risk role
  • Solid risk data & analytics capability, including confidence working across KRIs, incidents, issues, controls, & trends
  • Practical experience in Operational Risk Management, including incident management, issue/risk lifecycle management & controls assurance
  • An ability to translate data into clear, concise, insight‑rich narratives for senior leadership
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence & collaborate effectively & drive alignment across the COO domain
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • An ability to work autonomously, managing competing priorities & delivering high‑quality outputs under tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with APRA Prudential Standards (e.g., CPS 234, CPS 230) is advantageous
  • Any experience with data visualisation, dashboarding or analytics tools will be highly regarded
