The Opportunity

Play a pivotal role in keeping UniSC operating at its best. As Campus Operations Manager, you will lead the delivery of critical services across all campuses, overseeing cleaning, waste, parking, fleet, transport and mail operations, while inspiring and guiding high-performing Logistics and Business Support teams.

You will drive the end-to-end management of operational service contracts, setting clear performance standards, KPIs and service levels to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes across all facilities.

In addition, you will lead the coordination of event support services across the University, building strong, proactive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver seamless, efficient and professional experiences.

You will

  • Develop, implement, and manage operational systems, processes and programs for campus operations covering cleaning, waste, facilities servicing, transport, parking, fleet management, transport services, mail services and event support;
  • Develop and implement operational service contracts for use across all UniSC locations including management of contractors and other suppliers to maintain statutory compliance, contract performance and high levels of service; and
  • Manage the delivery of operational services that underpin Facilities Management, including sustainability initiatives and event support.

About you

You are an experienced and confident leader with a proven ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams and foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration and service excellence. You bring strong technical, operational and analytical capability, supported by sound problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of financial management principles. Highly effective in your communication and interpersonal approach, you are skilled at building trusted relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, contractors and suppliers to achieve positive outcomes. You also bring advanced knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety legislation, with demonstrated experience applying this in practice to ensure safe, compliant and well-managed working environments.

You will possess:

  • Completion of a relevant postgraduate qualification and extensive experience in the field of facilities management, services and operations, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Proven leadership and management experience of multi-disciplinary teams that drives teamwork, collaboration, and service excellence.
  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge in developing and managing facilities related service contracts in the areas of cleaning, waste, parking, fleet, transport services, and mail services.
  • Successful experience in the development and delivery of extensive multi-year facilities operations programmes, preferably over dispersed facilities, to ensure a targeted approach to delivery and expenditure.
  • Experience of medium sized fleet management operations including acquisition and disposal. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organisation wide transport strategy and sustainable transport practices
  • Event management and support experience, specifically relating to facilities operational requirements in a complex environment; and
  • Working knowledge of facilities services electronic management systems, databases, and associated technologies.
